During a fire event, these solutions automatically respond to help limit the spread of fire and smoke through the duct system, supporting the building’s passive fire protection strategy and helping provide valuable time for occupants to evacuate safely. Backdraft dampers prevent unwanted reverse airflow within the ventilation system, helping maintain proper airflow direction, improve HVAC efficiency, reduce energy loss, and protect mechanical equipment from pressure fluctuations.
